Money, honestly

"How much will it actually cost?"

It is the first question every family asks, and it deserves a straight answer. These are our own destination figures — tuition, living, insurance, visa and accommodation, itemised, with a total for the first year.

At a glance

First year, side by side.

Each total covers tuition, living costs and the compulsory fees for that destination.

Our fee

What Kagiptai charges you.

Separate from the country costs above, and identical wherever you choose to go. You will know the full figure before you commit to anything.

Agency Fee

Your first consultation is free, whether you come to the office in Eldoret or speak with an advisor online. The agency fee only applies once you decide to proceed with an application.

  • The first consultation costs you nothing.
  • Ksh. 40,000 is payable at application; the balance is payable at visa lodgement.
  • Country costs — tuition, visa, insurance — are paid to the institution or authority, not to us.
  • We will tell you the realistic total before you spend anything on an application.
The detail

Every line, itemised.

Exactly what makes up each destination's first-year total.

These are planning ranges, not quotations. Actual fees depend on the university, the course and the intake, and immigration rules and health surcharges change from time to time due to currency fluctuation or changes by UKVI, IRCC, DHA, SEVIS, BLS Spain, IOM, TLScontact and VFS Global. We confirm current figures for your shortlist before you apply.
The full picture

The costs people forget to budget for.

Tuition is the headline number. It is rarely the whole number.

Visa, health & biometrics

The visa fee itself, plus the IHS surcharge in the UK, OSHC in Australia, SEVIS in the USA or health insurance in Spain.

Tests & documents

IELTS, TOEFL, PTE — and SAT, GRE or GMAT for some US programmes — plus certified transcripts and apostilles.

Flights & first weeks

One-way flight, airport transfer, an accommodation deposit, bedding, a SIM card and a winter coat.

Proof of funds

Most destinations require maintenance money held for a set period — Canada's GIC requirement alone is CAD 20,635.

Funding

Ways students bring the cost down.

Scholarships and financial aid are available in all five of our destinations. They are usually awarded on academic results and applied for alongside — or automatically with — your admission application, so applying early matters enormously. For the USA we run a dedicated scholarship search as part of our service.
The single largest saving available to most students. A first year in Spain runs €12,000 – €22,000, against AUD 42,000 – 75,000 in Australia. If budget is the binding constraint, the destination decision matters more than any scholarship will.
Part-time work genuinely helps with day-to-day living, and we include part-time job and lifestyle guidance in most destinations. But visa authorities expect you to arrive with fees and maintenance already covered — plan as though you will earn nothing, and treat anything you do earn as a bonus.
Several Kenyan banks offer education financing for study abroad, and some require an admission letter before they will assess an application. We can tell you what documentation lenders typically ask for so you are not caught out by timing.
